MCREW: Management/Crop Rotation Editor for WEPS

A version of MCREW is available for evaluation. It is a Java application to build management/crop rotation files for WEPS. It is functional, however, it is not complete in the sense that many typical features (online, context sensitive help, drag-and-drop, etc.) are not implemented. Also, at the time of development, few development tools and third party objects were available to create a polished product in Java. However, this was not deemed a problem since the goal was to develop a working prototype of MCREW for use in testing WEPS and to evaluate specific ideas/approaches to such a graphical interface using Java.

MCREW is expected to be enhanced and improved over time through the use of new Java development tools that will allow creation of a professional application faster and with less effort. As consensus builds on what should be in a management/crop rotation file builder for MOSES, the same look-and-feel will be incorporated into MCREW as it is expected to be the Java port of that component of MOSES. Likewise, the Java port of the SDS (Smart Data Structure) will be incorporated and tested within MCREW as well.

With those caveats in mind, here it is:
